CTV “KWINDS 1”, 200 Tower Push-Ons, 806 Safe Personnel Transfers, Zero Downtime
Following her delivery as one of Korea's first domestically built CTV in November 2025, the CTV "KWINDS 1" successfully entered commercial service at the Nakwol offshore Wind Farm on 3 June 2026, marking another important milestone in Korea's offshore wind industry.
During her first 20 operating days in June, the vessel safely completed 200 Tower Push-On operations and transferred 806 offshore personnel between the vessel and offshore structures without any minor incident. The successful completion of these operations demonstrated not only the vessel's proven performance and reliability but also the professionalism and operational readiness of the offshore crews employed by CTV Operator “K-WIND SOLUTION”.
Operations were conducted under a wide range of environmental conditions, including strong tidal currents reaching maximum 3.0 knots, one of the most demanding challenges for CTV operations. Despite these conditions, the vessel's Master, Officers and Deck hands consistently displayed outstanding teamwork, disciplined seamanship and precise vessel handling throughout every transfer operation.
As a result, the CTV maintained ZERO incidents and ZERO operational downtime throughout the reporting period, enabling uninterrupted offshore construction activities and helping maximize the efficiency and productivity of the client's offshore workforce.
The successful performance achieved during the CTV's first month of commercial service establishes an important safety and operational track record for both the CTV "KWINDS 1" and CTV Operator “K-WIND SOLUTION”. It also demonstrates that Korea's domestically developed CTV capability is fully capable of supporting offshore wind construction and maintenance operations to international operational standards.
Building on this successful start, We, “K-WIND SOLUTION” remain committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety, reliability and operational excellence. By continuously expanding its accident-free operational record, we will continue supporting the safe and timely completion of the Younggwang Nakwol Offshore Wind Farm while contributing to the sustainable growth of Korea's offshore wind industry.
