K-WIND SOLUTION Commences Commercial Operations of CTV “KWINDS 1” in Korean Offshore Wind Farm
June 3, 2026
K-WIND SOLUTION Co., Ltd. (“KWS”), a specialized offshore Crew Transfer Vessel (CTV) operator, is proud to announce that its flagship vessel, M/V KWINDS 1, officially commenced commercial operations and Offshore Industrial Personnel Transfer services on June 3, 2026, at an offshore wind farm located in the coastal waters of Jeollanam-do, South Korea.
A New Milestone for KWS
The commencement of operations marks a significant milestone for KWS as it officially enters the offshore wind vessel operations market as a dedicated Offshore CTV Operator. This achievement represents the realization of KWS’s vision to establish a safe, reliable, and domestically driven offshore wind support service in Korea.
Proven Readiness for Offshore Operations
Prior to commercial deployment, KWS conducted extensive onboard training programs based on its standardized CTV Operation Manual, including emergency response drills, offshore transfer procedures, and vessel maneuvering exercises. The vessel also successfully completed a Push-on Test at a Transition Piece (TP) boat landing, validating its capability to safely perform offshore personnel transfers under real operating conditions.
Supporting Korea’s Offshore Wind Industry
With commercial operations now underway, KWINDS 1 is actively supporting offshore wind farm activities through the safe transportation of Industrial Personnel. The vessel will play an important role in supporting the continued growth of South Korea’s offshore renewable energy sector.
Safety First, Always
From its inception, KWS has placed offshore safety culture at the core of its business philosophy. Together with its highly trained CTV Crew, the company remains committed to helping customers achieve their safety objectives through standardized operating procedures, robust safety management systems, and continuous professional development.
Looking Ahead
As its first commercial CTV enters service, KWS expects steady growth as a specialized Offshore CTV Operator. The company will continue strengthening its position in the offshore wind market through fleet expansion, crew development, and continuous enhancement of its safety management framework.
K-WIND SOLUTION remains dedicated to delivering zero-incident offshore transportation services built on trust, professionalism, and safety.
